When you think about the South of France, you’ll probably have sunshine in mind. But instead of sun block, our most essential piece of equipment turned out to be our rain jackets. In fact, we spent five consecutive days in the clouds, got our sleeping bags soaked, and battled to stay dry.

Starting from Hendaye, we made our way to Lescun mostly along dirt roads – to our dismay. Not exactly the start we expected.
